TCT, Kolkata : Concord is the annual inter school cultural festival of the Calcutta Boys's School,
comprising a plethora of events where participants of renowned schools from the city of Kolkata take part and compete for the coveted position of being declared the champions of this milestone event in the Kolkata schools circuit. CONCORD 2019 will be held from 26 to 28 June 2019 at the Main School Campus at S.N. Banerjee Road and at the Sangeet Kala Mandir Trust Auditorium at Shakespeare Sarani and will serve as a platform for the expression of talent of the younger 


generation. Instituted in the year 1983 Concord has the distinction of being the first event of its kind in the city of Kolkata, then known as Calcutta. Ms Agnimitra Paul, celebrity Fashion Designer and
socialite has consented to be the Guest of Honor for the grand opening of the fest. Speaking on the occasion Fashion Designer Agnimitra Paul said, ‘It is a great opportunity for the students to show their talent and skills. Concord gets the biggest success and reaches its heights.’ This year the programme has been designed with the theme of raising awareness against drug abuse and Illicit trafficking and thus is appropriately scheduled to be inaugurated on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking ( 26 June 2018 ) By resolution 42/112 of 7 December 1987, the General Assembly of the United Nations decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and
cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse. Supported each year by individuals, communities and various organizations all over the world, this global observance aims to raise awareness of the major problem that illicit drugs represent to society. The variety of events scheduled for the three days are centered around the theme of support for the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and is sure to raise awareness regarding the same. This year the participating institutionsare the Modern High School, Sri Sri Academy, Frank Anthony Public School, DPS Newtown, DPS Megacity, DPS Ruby park, Gokhale Memorial School, Adamas
International School, St Augustine Day School Kolkata, Jewish Girls School, Loreto School Bowbazar, Loreto Sealdah, Loreto Convent School Entally,the Future Foundation school, MP Birla High School, Aditya Academy, St Francis Xavier School, Birla Bharati, Calcutta Girls High School and the host school, Calcutta Boys School.
